In May 2017, Professor Patel, the incoming chairman of the Indian Society of Vascular and Interventional Radiology (IVSIR), personally led a team to China to learn about microwave ablation technology. They visited the China-Japan Friendship Hospital, the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University, and Henan Cancer Hospital. Professors Mingan Yu, Xinguang Qiu, and Hailiang Li provided hands-on teaching during their visit.

As an international platform for the exchange and cooperation of microwave ablation technology, CCMA once again played an active role in assisting India in implementing its first thyroid microwave ablation surgery. This assistance has greatly contributed to India's advancement in the field of ablation technology.
